We are told that planking is one of the best exercises for a stronger mid section. I’d like to add that it’s probably one of the most dreaded exercises. I’m yet to meet someone who likes the exercise.
I must confess that that when I built my faint abdominal definition several years ago, I did not spend 1 second planking. But I have since included it intermittently into my #SteelAbs routine. This blog post is not about how to do the plank properly, it’s about the one thing I do that makes planking bearable and that is strength training my arms. With strong arms, you can hold yourself up longer.
This is not to say that all you need to do a plank is strong arms, but it is saying that strong arms help.
So, get lifting people and work those arms!
